## The brief

These trainees did not need automation. They needed to communicate strategically, and to understand where AI fits in that.

## How it was designed

1. Layer one, precision: name the audience, scope and format. Layer two, structure: define the output framework before the model fills it. Layer three, context: role simulation that accounts for the reader and the politics between departments.
2. ChatGPT for open-ended work; Microsoft Copilot, integrated with Office, for memos, decks and reports; Perplexity for research-backed prompts.

## What came out

- **2** days
- **3** prompting layers
- By day two, trainees were combining all three layers in single prompts and applying them to their own work.
