YPO · Los Angeles · AI Show · Stage demonstration + hands-on workshops
Forty-five minutes to open a steakhouse without touching a grill.
On 5 November 2025 two YPO chapters in Los Angeles held a joint AI day at the Skirball Cultural Center. In the afternoon I co-led one of the hands-on AI Creativity workshops; in the evening I co-presented the 45-minute AI Show with my Adaptig colleague Mateo Romano—he told the story, I ran the tools at the lectern—building a fictional steakhouse from scratch: market research, website, investor deck and an AI customer-service agent.
- When
- 5 November 2025 (workshops in the afternoon, AI Show in the evening)
- Hosts
- A joint event of two YPO chapters: YPO Pacific Coast Gold and YPO United Mosaic
- Venue
- Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles
- Format
- Afternoon hands-on workshops in two tracks (Productivity, Creativity); an evening 45-minute AI Show co-presented with Adaptig colleague Mateo Romano
- My role
- One of the Creativity workshop trainers; in the AI Show, the “sous chef” running the tools live at the lectern

The brief
The chapter chairs did not want a tour of the AI landscape. They wanted members to see what they could do today—how to be more productive and more creative, and how their own teams or competitors could use these tools. The challenge they set the speakers was to take a business from zero to grand opening with AI in 45 minutes.
How it was designed
- The whole show was one story: a fictional high-end Los Angeles steakhouse called “Cobra Lee”. Each step used the output of the one before—research became a business plan, the plan became a website, the website became an investor deck.
- Clear roles: Mateo worked the front of the stage and explained why each step mattered to a business; I stood at the lectern and made each step happen on screen.
What came out
- 4.7/5
- instructor rating, afternoon Creativity workshop
- 61
- Creativity workshop Net Promoter Score
- The same demonstration format has since been used at other events, including the first evening of the College of Surgeons course.
