Thank you once again for delivering such a fantastic AI workshop for the College fellows. The feedback has been excellent, and several attendees have asked me for your contact information.

Data safety comes first. In plain terms: when staff put information into an AI tool, Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) still applies. The Privacy Commissioner's checklist on staff use of generative AI recommends that every organisation sets out which AI tools are permitted and what information may and may not go into them. My training starts at the same point: before any exercise, you and I agree, under your own policy, what may go into an AI tool. Where your rules require it, the exercises use public or fictional data: the bank programme used external public data only, and Garden's cohorts practised on fictional data.

Some Hong Kong employers may be able to recover part of the cost of advanced-technology staff training through the New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme (NITTP), administered by the VTC. Eligibility is decided by the NITTP Secretariat, not by me, and applications must be approved before training starts.
Under the scheme's published rules, the government matches the employer's spending 1:1, with a funding ceiling of HK$250,000 per company in each financial year. Any grant is paid to the employer as a reimbursement after the training is completed. NITTP courses are run through training providers accepted by the scheme, and a course application must be made at least four months before training starts.

Sam Wong (黃力桐) is an AI trainer in Hong Kong and Co-Founder & Director of Academy at Adaptig. His record: 11,000+ people trained across 70+ organisations in 13 countries. He is a Registered Speaker with the Hong Kong Productivity Council and an Official Trainer Partner of the Hong Kong College of Technology, and teaches in Cantonese or English.
Anything from a 30- or 45-minute talk or panel, a three-hour hands-on module and full-day or two-day workshops, to a series of sessions over several weeks, on-site or online. Taught in Cantonese or English, with Traditional Chinese or English materials.
Yes. Sessions can run at your company, department by department or cohort by cohort, with exercises built on the team's real tasks; they can also run online.
It depends on what goes in, so staff sort the data first. I teach this as the Traffic Light Protocol, a three-second check before every AI task: red (names, account numbers or other personal data) never goes into an external AI tool; yellow (internal material such as meeting minutes) goes in only after names and client references are removed; green (published or fictional material) is free to use. Your own policy still decides which AI tools are permitted, and the PDPO applies to whatever staff enter (see the PDPO question below).
The exercises are built around your team's real tasks. Before we start, you and I agree which information may go into an AI tool at all. Where your policies require it, the exercises use public or fictional versions of your material, as the bank programme (external public data only) and Garden (fictional data) did.
The Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance applies to the information staff input into AI tools. The Privacy Commissioner's checklist on staff use of generative AI recommends that organisations define which tools are permitted and what information may be shared. Before any exercise, you and I agree on what can be entered into an AI tool based on your own policy. Where needed, I build the exercises using public or fictional data instead of real records.
I choose the tools that fit your specific setup. This includes the software your company has approved and your staff can access. For example, this is often Microsoft Copilot within Microsoft 365. Teams working with the mainland may require mainland tools. If you plan to buy licences, count how many people can actually open the tool first. Microsoft Copilot training: count the licences first ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot: which AI can a Hong Kong team actually use at work?
I calculate fees based on the session length, group size, and the amount of content adaptation required. I will agree on the scope with you first, then provide a written quotation. How much does corporate AI training cost in Hong Kong?
Some employers may be eligible. Hong Kong companies might be able to recover part of the cost of advanced-technology staff training through the New Industrialisation and Technology Training Programme (NITTP), which is administered by the VTC. The NITTP Secretariat decides eligibility, not me: it depends on your company, the staff you nominate, and the course. Applications must be approved before training starts. Look beyond the course outline: ask the provider for one complete classroom exercise, meaning the material learners receive, the work they must produce and the criteria the trainer uses to assess it. Yes. Train-the-trainer covers course design, exercises and facilitation so your own people can teach AI to colleagues. Graduates of Adaptig's trainer programme have gone on to lead their own corporate and public workshops in Hong Kong. AI train-the-trainer in Hong Kong
